This art is about isolation, identity, and focus. It is the story of June, who uses archery to cope with the isolation and trauma of living in difficult circumstances. She develops the ability to intensely focus on a single point to the exclusion of all else, a barrier against the world.
This fine art illustration "Breathe" is drawn and then painted twice for the story in the tradition of classic illustrated stories. It is then printed with museum-grade paper (175gsm fine art paper). Each print is printed with top-tier pigmented archival inks.
The story was written and performed by me, Summer in Philly and I painted Breathe with a combination of Clip Studio Paint and Rebelle 8. Of course all my thumbnails just live in my sketchbook.
The video of my painting process and the story is available on this website.
