This drawing was inspired by the illustrations of Patrick Nagel, Summerstyle! The ladies of Philadelphia are beautiful. I’m always sketching and collecting the great looks I see at the bars, restaurants, and coffee houses of Philly. Many tend toward aggressive, passionate, tough girl looks that are just raw and awesome. I will run across every other style you can think of in this big city though, I’ll never draw them all!

Water Ice is Italian Ice is "Wooder Ice" - confused? I was too, this was new to me when I made the move to Philly. In no time at all I was a big fan of this Philly treat and had gotten used to people pronouncing "water" as "wooder". ;) Gritty the Philadelphia Flyers Mascot will back me up on this.
